About Claire Frieze

I hold a PhD in English literature and spent many years lecturing on and teaching literature. My first love, though, has always been writing fiction.

Memories of Things to Come, my first historical novel, is about the Ethiopian Jews who walked to Sudan in the early 1980s in the hope of reaching Israel. It follows one young man up to Operation Moses in November 1984. I wrote this novel so that their story and their courage would not be forgotten.

if… and other stories is a collection of six short stories about ordinary lives knocked off course in an instant.
